The Garden Society of Marin

Membership Information  Membership dues are paid annually to GSM in the amount of $35 per person.   This includes $20 forwarded to The marin Art and garden center (MAGC) to pay MAGC membership.   If a person is presently a member of MAGC their membership dues to GSM are $15.   Membership in MAGC entitles you to vote in MAGC elections and receive the MAGC newsletter "MAGC happenings."   Membership in GSM entitles you to vote in GSM elections and receive the monthly GSM newsletter.   To receive a GSM membership application contact Susan Wittenmyer, attend a regular monthly meeting where membership applications are always available, or print the Membership Application Form and mail it to us.            

  Special notes regarding membership-   MAGC membership rules specify that all memberships will expire on December 31^st of each year, regardless of when the membership application was submitted.   Likewise, in accordance with the MAGC Guidelines For Support Groups, which GSM is obligated to follow, all GSM memberships expire on December 31^st.   If you are a new member and are joining on September 1^st or later in the year, you will be given two options by GSM.   Option One is that GSM will accept your membership and consider you a member of GSM with all privileges as stated above, but will not submit your membership to MAGC until the following year.   Therefore, you would not be considered an official member of MAGC until after December 31^st.   Option Two is for those individuals who are joining because of an upcoming MAGC election late in the year and wish to vote in that election.   In this instance, the membership application would be submitted immediately and would expire December 31^st.
